PRAY TODAY! Pakistan is a land strategically placed for a gospel invasion! This is one of the ministries that is seizing upon the opportunity to preach the gospel and help build the Kingdom of God in Asia. Today we are asking you to consider the      following information and pray as the Holy Spirit leads you to pray.

Population: 168,803,560 (2006 est.; 40% under age 15; 7th largest population in the world, more than Russia)

Comparative area size: slightly less than twice the size of California (only 25% arable)

Life expectance at birth: 63.75 years

Risk category, major infectious diseases: high

Ethnic groups: Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtun (Pathan), Baloch, Muhajir (immigrants from India at the time of partition and their descendants)

Religions: Muslim 97% (Sunni 77%, Shi'a 20%), other (includes Christian and Hindu) 3%

Official Languages: Urdu and English; others include Punjabi, Sindhi, Siraiki (a Punjabi variant), Pashtu , Balochi, Hindko, Brahui and Burushaski (in order of usage)

Strategic significance of Pakistan: Largest center for Islamic terrorist training, yet the most open in the region to gospel crusades. Geopolitically friendly    towards the USA. What effects Pakistan tends to effect the entire Islamic world.
