RE:        Proposed team meeting schedule

God bless you for your part in the Thailand Healing Outreach! Your obedience to God will make a profound difference in the lives of many Asian people, and in your own life.

An important part of your preparation for this outreach is to attend team meetings ¾ as many as you can.* We will pray together, get to know one another, build unity, review pertinent materials and receive instruction about the culture and customs of Thailand.

( The following is excerpted from our “Policies and Procedures”. If you have submitted an application (with deposit), you will receive the full document soon.)

a)      Even though the minimum requirement for team meetings is 60% (or less for those who live a long distance away), I strongly urge team members to attend every meeting possible. Please don’t let other commitments or distractions get in the way. When you arrive overseas, you’ll be thankful for every meeting you attended!

b)      For the benefit of those who live a long distance from the Portland (Oregon) area or the north Oregon Coast, the following guidelines will govern your participation in team meetings (based on a schedule of 10 team meetings; the actual number could change):

i)        Up to 1 ½ hrs by car from northeast Oregon ¾ 60% attendance required (6 out of 10).

ii)      1 ½ to 3 hrs by car from northeast Oregon ¾ 40% attendance required (4 out of 10).

iii)    3 to 5 hours by car from northeast Oregon ¾ 30% attendance required (3 out of 10).

iv)          Over 5 hours by car from northeast Oregon ¾  none required (but 1 or more recommended).

Please understand that (as it says at the top of this memo), the following schedule is proposed and therefore somewhat tentative. The reason team meetings are being scheduled on Saturdays is because some are coming a long distance to be there. If the consensus of the team is that another day of the week works better, we will change the schedule accordingly.

2. Saturday, Aug. 16; 2:00 pm at Ed & Lorna’s house
3. Saturday, Sept. 13; 2:00 pm at Craig & Terri’s house
4. Saturday, Oct. 11; 2:00 pm at Ed & Lorna’s house

NUMBER OF MEETINGS: This schedule calls for 10 meetings – a typical number, including one potluck. More potlucks can be held at the pleasure of the team.

I will do my best to send email prior to all meetings, however it is the responsibility of each team member to confirm any scheduled meeting before coming.
